PULLMAN, Wash. - Starting in the fall, midterm grades for all undergraduate students at all campuses will be submitted by 5 p.m. on the Wednesday of the eighth week of the fall and spring semesters – unless it is stated otherwise in the class syllabus.

The Washington State University Faculty Senate approved an amendment to the Midterm Grade Submittal academic proposal by a few votes Thursday.

The official voting record will be posted on the Faculty Senate website    http://facsen.wsu.edu/      in the minutes from the April 12 meeting.

Approval concludes a process begun when a proposal was submitted in January. The senate returned it with an amendment to give all students passing their courses a grade letter C and all students failing a grade letter F.

Senate committees moved forward with this option; however, on Thursday the senate decided to go with the original proposal of giving all undergraduate students their accurate midterm letter grade. Exceptions must clearly be state in the class syllabus.
