Be smart about starting a business with workshop

RICHLAND, Wash. - Learn how to start a business in Benton and Franklin counties at a workshop to be presented Monday, March 12, by the Washington State University Tri-Cities Business LINKS program. Class size is limited; pre-registration is required.The Start Smart workshop will answer questions focusing on business plan basics, such as:

How much money will you need to start and run the business until it is profitable?

What are your options for getting money for your business?

What do you need to do to legally launch your business - licenses, taxes and other issues?

How will you market your business?
This practical and interactive workshop will help you save time and money by planning ahead. Participants will develop an action plan and receive a step-by-step workbook.
The workshop will be at 6:30 p.m. at the Richland Public Library, 955 Northgate Dr., Richland, Wash. Registration for the two-hour workshop costs $25 for up to two people. Pre-register online at www.tricity.wsu.edu/links or call 372-7101.
The Start Smart workshop is repeated the second Monday of most months - the next two are scheduled for April 9 and June 11. Start Smart is co-sponsored by the Small Business Development Center/Columbia Basin College, SCORE, the City of Richland and the four area chambers of commerce.
