Catching dreams

Alumnus uses football to inspire community

PULLMAN, Wash. – William Pellum, a Washington State University alumnus, will be honored at the 25th annual Palm Springs Black History Awards Gala. He is receiving an award for his work in the community inspiring children with football to pursue their dreams.
 
Pellum earned a football scholarship to WSU after high school and graduated with a degree in social science. After serving in the army, he was a recreation program coordinator for the James E. Jesse Desert Highland Unity Center for six years, a member of the Palm Springs High football coaching staff for two decades and authored the book "Catching Dreams.”
