Association gives scholarships

Students recognized for excellence in bovine medicine

Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011

PULLMAN, Wash. – Three Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine students received awards at the 2011 American Association of Bovine Practitioners meeting in St. Louis. 
 
They are:

• Tim Gibbs, the Amstutz Scholarship from the Amstutz Scholarship Fund, $7,500.

• Ben Werkhoven, Pfizer Animal Health Veterinary Student Scholarship, $5,000.

• Chelsey Johnson, first place in the 2011 Student Case Competition research category, $1,500. 
 
The AABP is an international association that provides education on cattle health, increases awareness of issues that influence the cattle industry and improves opportunities for careers in bovine medicine.
