WSU landscape display garden in full bloom

Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011

By Emily Smudde, WSU News intern

PULLMAN, Wash. – In 2007, three, 56-year-old greenhouses on Wilson Road were torn down. Instead of placing another building on the site, the Horticulture and Landscape Architecture Display Garden was built, incorporating pieces of the old greenhouses into the design.

The garden was designed and built by horticulture and landscape architecture students under former WSU professor Phil Waite. Students continue to maintain the garden as part of their coursework. Working with the university gives them real-world experience with a client.
