Gregorio “Greg” Guillen
PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State University graduating senior Gregorio "Greg" Guillen was born in Mexico, recently obtained his U.S. residency and intends to reach his dream of becoming a U.S. citizen.
He has worked hard to apply for scholarships in order to help pay for his education. In order to do this, he has focused on keeping his GPA at a respectable level. He will graduate from WSU Pullman on May 7 with honors from the College of Business with a 3.79.
He has completed his studies within the Honors College, participated on the Student Book Corporation board of directors, received the President’s Award, and been on the President’s Honor Roll for more than three semesters.
Guillen has held various leadership positions that have prepared him for the “real world” after college. He has worked as a College of Business ambassador for two years. He has interned for Associated Students of WSU executive staff, co-chaired for M.E.Ch.A (Moviemiento Estudiantil Chicana/De Aztlan), and served as vice-president of personal relations for Engineers without Borders.
He has been actively involved with his fraternal-based brotherhood, O eMe Te, and has been an active voice for the multicultural community.
He has worked hard to obtain as much education and leadership experience he can from WSU, mentor others, look past adversity, and strive to be the best in his chosen field.
Guillen was chair for Rallying for a Dream, where he organized and collaborated with 10 major organizations on campus to run a week-long event to educate the community on the Congressional Dream Act Bill. He also help obtained more than 1,500 signatures in support of the bill and acquired U.S. Sen. Maria Cantwell’s support as co-sponsor.
He has been offered many opportunities to work for various companies, and has goals to obtain his M.B.A. in the future.
