Shawn A. Frazier

As a first generation college student, Shawn Frazier has juggled many obligations throughout his years at Washington State University.
During his second year at WSU, he became involved in the review team and editing staff for the peer reviewed kinesiology student journal “The Works.”
Later, he also organized and directed the editing process for the journal. At the same time, Frazier was also working full-time to support his schooling.
In spite of his heavy work schedule, he has been a teacher assistant in the undergraduate course for writing across the curriculum (Mvst313 – sports psychology) where he helped students refine their academic writing skills and assisted them in gathering research for writing assignments and undergraduate research projects.
“The progress of the students in the research progress and in writing ability has increased two to three levels.” Lawrence Bruya, professor of kinesiology, said. “Shawn is the reason. He has been excellent.”
He has been a teaching assistant in movement studies 199 as well.
Frazier is also a member of the Northwest Student Professional Network (NWSPN). He has been an active member for five semesters and has taken part in the conferences, community service and group activities within the student organization since joining.
After graduation, Frazier is deciding between going straight to physical therapy school or serving in the military, where he can potentially continue his education.
Frazier aspires to become a physical therapist.
