Washington State University Spokane’s Graduating Class of 2010

SPOKANE, Wash.— Approximately 430 students from Washington State University Spokane will be the first in the Spokane area to celebrate their successful degree completion during the 2010 Commencement celebration at 2 p.m. Friday, May 7.

Chancellor Brian Pitcher will preside over the formal commencement ceremony beginning at 2 p.m. in the INB Performing Arts Center at 334 W Spokane Falls Blvd. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. All family, friends, and faculty are invited to attend. Tickets are not required for this event.

Background on the Class of 2010
The graduating class of 2010 is represented by 95 doctoral candidates in the areas of education, nursing and pharmacy—93 of which are pharmacy students and the very first two Ph.D. students in nursing since the program began in 2007.

The 101 master’s candidates will be receiving degrees in the areas of architecture; criminal justice; education; engineering and technology management; health policy and administration; interior design; landscape architecture; nursing; communication disorders/speech and hearing sciences (a joint EWU/WSU program); and teaching.

The 236 bachelor’s candidates will receive degrees in the areas of exercise physiology and metabolism; interior design; landscape architecture; leadership and professional studies; social sciences; nursing; and communication disorders/speech and hearing sciences (a joint EWU/WSU program).

The nursing baccalaureates total 144 students who will receive their degrees from the WSU College of Nursing and its consortium partners Eastern Washington University and Whitworth University. All baccalaureate nursing graduates receive joint degrees from WSU and from the institution at which they did their first two years of study.
