Organ joins brass for Faculty Artist Series

Schneider on organPULLMAN, Wash. – A trumpet/organ duo will join a brass quintet for a Washington State University concert in the Faculty Artist Series at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, in Bryan Hall. Series proceeds support the School of Music’s scholarship fund.

En Chamade (the trumpet and organ duo of faculty members David Turnbull and Jill Schneider) will perform works by Wallin, Caccini and Gounod. Instructor Chris Wurst (trumpet) will join the duo on five of Frescobaldi’s “Canzoni a due.”

The second half of the concert will feature members of the WSU Brass Quintet performing works by Josquin des Prez and Walter Ross.

Tickets will be available at the door; they are free for WSU students with ID, $10 for general admission and $5 for seniors and non-WSU students.
